Founded by "Eagles" member, Don Henley, The Institute comprises two structures situated on 18 acres of conservation land in Walden Woods, approximately one-half mile from Walden Pond.  The Institute features the world’s foremost collection of Thoreau and Thoreau- related materials, a state-of-the-art archives and media center, a spacious reading room, a variety of educational programs and resources, and accommodations for visiting scholars.
