Zoning Board gets new members
In a highly unusual act, veteran ZBA member Susan Mygatt was denied her bid to be reappointed to that board by the selectmen at last night's meeting (7/28).  Selectmen chairman Penny Billings voted to reappoint her; Gary Taylor and Sara Mattes did not.

In other actions, Long-time resident and banking attorney, John Kimball was unanimously appointed to the full member seat. Attorney and political novice Win Quayle was unanimously appointed to one associate member's seat and accounting/financial planning exec Joe Robbat was appointed (2-1) to the other associate member's seat.

The selectmen also switched the roles of  members Gus Browne and Anna Hardman. Hardman becomes a full member, while Browne will be an associate member.  Browne's work schedule required him to miss recent meetings.

Lincoln fire truck bites the dust
Engine #3, bought new by the town over 25 years ago, has blown its engine and is currently out of commission. It sits disabled at the DPW Barn.  The town has borrowed a fire truck from Concord while it decides whether to repair the old truck or buy a new one.  New fire trucks now cost about half a million dollars.
New engines typically cost about $25,000.
